Personal breakdown cover protects a named person instead of a specific car. The policy holder is covered if the car they’re driving breaks down but also if they’re a passenger in another car, driven by someone else. This type of policy is perfect for:
- People who regularly drive more than one vehicle
- People that frequently travel as passengers in someone else’s vehicle

Deals on family breakdown cover
Family breakdown cover is a cost-effective way to cover multiple people you live with on a single policy. It costs a minimum of £3 a month to add an extra person to your breakdown policy, depending on the level of cover you have. Or for a minimum of £6 extra a month you can choose our family breakdown cover, which covers up to 5 people in one household.
- You can cover up to 5 people on the same policy (as long as everyone lives at the same address)
- Just select ‘cover for you’, ‘for two’ or ‘family breakdown cover’
- Everyone will be covered as drivers or passengers in any eligible vehicle1, including cars, motorbikes and vans.
Alternatively, you can also cover multiple vehicles on one policy if you choose vehicle cover. This means each vehicle is covered no matter who is driving when it breaks down. You can cover up to 3 vehicles registered to the same address.
