RAC Weather Forecasts
With our new weather capabilities within the Route Planner we're now able to provide weather forecasts overlaid along your route, as well as for any location within the UK in our recently launched Maps section.
Simply type your town, city or postcode in the search tool above and click “Get forecast”. This will take you through to our Maps section, zoomed into your chosen location with specific weather forecasts shown on the map.
We’ve also created the “Popular weather forecast locations” carousel above to make it easier for you to get weather forecasts for the most popular cities in the UK. Simply click on the city and again you’ll be taken through to our Maps section, zoomed in with specific weather forecasts shown on the map.
From here you can click on any of the weather forecast pins to get more details on what to expect. Each pin opens out to give you details on the general weather forecast itself, as well as the temperature, wind speed and direction, precipitation, visibility, humidity and UV index for that location. You can also use the 5 day forecast slider at the bottom of the map to plan ahead and find out what the weather is going to be like over the next 5 days.
If you’re planning a route or checking the traffic in the Route Planner, you can also toggle the weather button on and use the 5 day forecast slider to make journey plans with the added advantage of knowing what the weather will be like on your travels too.
